Stuff and Nonsense

I HAVE ADDED THE ZIP FILE FOR THE FIRST KNITEFORCE CD “VINYL IS BETTER” TO THE KNITEFORCE SECTION IN THE MUSIC SECTION.
Hey Everyone,
First things first! My old email address has died. luna-c@kniteforce.co.uk is dead, I don’t receive any email to this address anymore. If you have sent to this address, please resend as it died about 2 weeks ago! The only address I get mail to now is:-
luna-c@kniteforcerevolution.com
So please use that from now on.
Okay, lets get on with this…I have had trouble getting around to doing a blog. I don’t know why, sometimes its just not that fun to do. But I do have quite a lot to tell you, so I will try to remember everything.
First up, I have had to cancel my Mannheim gig in November. I really regret this because I love playing Mannheim – Germany was the first country to be really supportive of Kniteforce, and it is always a pleasure to play there. Especially now as I have been on an old skool tip for a while and really fancy playing old skool to a crowd that really knows its stuff. But there it is. The reason? Well, most of you know I finally got my green card a few months back, so I am legally allowed to live and work in the USA. Which in turn meant it was time to look for a house. Currently, I am living with Becky at her parents house, which is massive and excellent, but you know, it was meant to be for a few months and is coming up to 2 years lol. This was out of our hands of course – the green card process dragged out so long that we simply couldn’t do anything else. Anyway, bottom line is, we have bought a house. Or rather, we have put an offer on that has been accepted so we are under contract. So we expect to move in the middle of November. Which makes flying to the UK and Germany a bit inconvenient at that time – especially as I am playing Dresden in Germany on the 24th of October and a UK gig for Epidemik on the 7th of November. Why everything has to happen in the same month I don’t know, but thats just life I guess. So yeah. Moving from New Jersey to Raleigh in North Carolina. Got a lovely little house and….wait, who cares about this? Only me and Becky. You want to hear about music right? Okay, so lets move on. Look at this:-

Yep. I replaced the Nord Stage with the new Access Virus keyboard. Because I wasn’t enjoying the Nord Stage at all. It was too big and not enough fun, and it had weighted keys. Now, I know its the thing to like weighted keys, because that makes it more like a “real” piano, but I have to say I just dont get it. It just makes playing really hard work. And the whole thing was so big I had to get up and walk a few steps to reach the pitch bend. Yeah. So got rid of it. Gonna ebay it soon. Anyway, completely loving the Access, cos its brilliant. So that was a good move.
Next up, KF061. Here are 3 confirmed tracks for the final Kniteforce vinyl. I still plan to do a box set, and am just getting the music together. These tracks are old skool in style but new skool in production. There are other, as yet unconfirmed tracks for this release. I am toying with the idea of a 4 pack, 4 tracks on each vinyl, and each representing a different old skool era…140bpm, 150bpm, 160bpm and 170bpm. But we will see how it goes. The clips here are 2 140bpm tracks, and one 160bpm tracks – although the bpm is just a guideline…the first 2 are 139 and 143 respectively, but would appear on the 140 disk. Anyway, have a listen, and you can hear them more fully on Podcast 10, which should go up early next week:-
Wonko The Sane
Speaking of Podcast 10, I am in the process of getting it together, but I have also been working on the sets for my upcoming mini Canada tour lol…I have Toronto and Ottawa next weekend, which will be brilliant cos it always is. Canada knows the score. And it meant I could make a pirate themed intro cos its a pirate party. Arrrrggg! etc etc
What else? Oh yes…Idealz will be here in a few weeks. Anyone still wanting to get his tracks will need to make a donation soon! Speaking of that, a few people have asked if they can have higher quality than the MP3. I can easily make the tracks Aif or wav, perhaps even flac, if thats what people want – let me know below!
Supaset 9 has not progressed at all – sorry. I just haven’t felt like it. So I have about 40 minutes of the set and will try to get the rest done as soon as I feel like it. Music is a funny thing, you know? I have ideas, but they are not always the ideas I want to have. For example, right now I am on an old skool tip, and I cant seem to get into anything modern. Inspiration is sorely lacking, and I am seriously considering just making old skool again as my main thing. Of course, I will always be making banging stuff for my sets, but I haven’t felt like making a kick drum styled modern track for a while – the last being The Potential Of 9. Maybe I will shake it off and start making that again. Only the last few months, and right now, all I want is breakbeats and basslines. And I want he freedom that old skool had, the variation is speeds, the “do anything” attitude. Bleeps and stabs, mentasm and amen snare rolls. So we will see where that takes me. Its one of the advantages of not putting vinyl out, or one of the disadvantages – depends on how you look at it. I feel less bound to the hardcore scene as it is now. I get a lot of music sent over, and have been listening to the Next Gen podcasts etc etc. Some of it is really good, but still, with the exceptions of Ham and Brisk, and the Raw Elements crew, much of it doesn’t excite me. Well. We will see what happens! I get like that sometimes.
I have writen a big article on Filesharing in the new Core magazine – I urge people to buy the magazine and show their support – not for me, but for a publication which has the respect for hardcore that is so rare to find anywhere. I have been given free range to write about what I want. Any suggestions would be welcome, and I think the next thing i write will be about how format in music is deadly.
Well, thats about it for now…will add more when Podcast 10 is up. The tracklist for Podcast 9 is up already…I can be heard to mumble nonsense on Twitter when I can get it to work, so you can follow me there as Djlunac, or you can catch me on Aim as Crult99 occasionally. Often I get too wrapped up in music to remember to log in to either program, but I am making the effort lol. Right, speak to you all soon!

Hello, nice update, always like reading what you are up to whether are not it is music-related! Would like to say about the Idealz tunes, I would definitely prefer them as just plain old .wav files please. Looking forward to hearing more Kniteforce stuff whether it’s old skool, new skool, hardcore or whatever, I just like to think of it all as rave music!

Hey Chris, whereabouts in Dresden are you playing on 24th of October?
— MK2k · Aug 16, 05:58 AM
Always good to hear what you’re doing, be it music-wise of else-life-wise.
Really liked the clips of the new tunes, looking forward to the final special release :)
For something completely different: planning a trip next year to the East coast, visiting Boston & New Haven, so is there a space in your new house…? :)
— Nevis · Aug 16, 09:23 AM
Chris you’ll have to share photos of the house once you close on the house…
