Some info and questions for you all!

Hey Peeps!

So, its been a little while since the last update. Lots of things are going on, and I have been so consumed by making music and personal stuff, that I just didn’t have a moment to write on the blog. But things are slowly settling down, so hopefully I will be back to updating a little more often soon!

New Studio Set Up

Heres a pic of the current studio set up. I know I have posted before, but quite a few new toys have been added, including the latest piece – the Genelec subwoofer. Oooohhh! Is it a coincidence that since I got that, I have been making more breakbeat stuff with lots of BASS? I dont think so. Anyway, all that is by-the-by. First things first!

I have posted the tracklist for Podcast 7. Included on it is the track which I couldn’t find the name for. It was a new Raw Elements tune, called “Let it Take Control, by Sc@r and Cat Knight. Its a fking great track IMO, so I wanted to give some props to Uplift and Sc@r and Raw Elements. That label has remained consistently good, which is not something you can say about a lot of labels.

What else? On a personal note, I went for my interview to get my green card – I am in the USA on a visa right now. The green card allows me to work, and also to stay here for 10 years. And I got it! Yay! On the same day, I took my written driving test, to get my permit to learn to drive. I passed that too! I know, I have struck terror into the hearts of any drivers in the USA, but be warned – once I have passed this test, I will be able to drive a ve-hicle (US pronunciation there) all over the place. I took lessons in the UK when I was 17, but failed the test as I almost crashed into the back of a truck. To be fair, I wasn’t really trying very hard to drive…I didnt care to learn, had no need to learn, and was only doing it because I was 17 and everyone was saying “you have to learn to drive”. Its so wierd not to have to worry about changing gears…I hesitate to say driving in the US is going to be easy because that guarantees me failing the road test, but big roads and no gear changing makes for a simpler process, thats for sure lol.

What else? Oh yes, I think a few people took my comment about leaving reviews on itunes as a little strict – I don’t blame people for not wanting to give apple their credit card details etc etc. It was just, if you have an account, and have the time, that would be awesome. Also, it seems I see different comments in the UK to the ones I see in the US. So any of you UK people, can you have a look and see how many there are? I am curious…the US itunes site has 4!

I have been making quite a lot of music. So far I have 4 tracks:-

Cope With This (probably gonna scrap this one)
Fuck Me Egyptian Style (probably Luna-C Project 15)
The Potential Of 9 (probably Luna-C Project 15)
The War (probably Luna-C Project 15)

And I will be working on more today. I will play a few new bits on the next podcast, Podcast 8, due in a week or so, as well as a few dubs from Supaset 9 maybe. I expect Supaset 9 will be Podcast 9 – so end of July? There will be a competition linked to Supaset 9, one where you can win money. Neato! Also, Idealz is coming to the studio at the end of August. So that will be super cool. I miss all my UK friends, and it will be awesome to have Lee over here just to hang out and make music!

I am looking at getting merchandise done. Other than a simple KF logo front and back T-shirt, is there anything you would like to see? Any ideas? It would be nice to have a small selection of items, and I am keen on getting what you actually want, so I don’t have piles of unsold clothes lol.

So thats about it for now…gonna get on with the next bit of music now…take it easy people!

Thanks for the continued efforts and interesting blog posts :) As for the contest… Why not give away something else other than money? I mean.. money is great but autographed vinyls and merchandise are better! Anyway, love the site, and loving what you’re doing, keep it up :)

    I’d love a KF T-shirt.

I did try and put a review for the podcast but couldn’t see anything obvious on itunes.

    Good news, everyone… :)

    Congratulations on the green card!
Looking forward to seeing you drive over here, haha! The American mother of a friend had to stop on the breakdown lane after her first few minutes on a 4-lane German motorway with no speed limit. ;)

As for merchandise, I have always been a fan of the more subtle logo. Let’s say a KF shirt with a small embroidered KF man, accompanied by the KF letters and the star only, all in all 8cm max. Love the metric system.

    Spoon soon.

Another storming podcost Chris. Can’t wait for number 9! Defo think you should do a set over in the UK soon…

Congrats on the Green Card and good luck on the driving test.

Merchandise-wise: I think a T-Shirt with subtle KF logo would be good (as it’s KF then its got be somewhere unique). I do think a quality T-shirt is the key!!!

Thanks for getting me back into the new hardcore stuff, getting my old skool collection up to scratch was costing me an arm and a leg ;-) But release some more of your supaset tunes – the radiohead sample from podcast one is a no brainer!

….And because you wanted to know there are now 5 comments on the UK iTunes site ;-)
