Hi Peeps!
Im sorry. I hardly ever post anymore, I know. Its just I have nothing much to say right now. Well, right now I do have something to say, hence the blog post, but the last few months I just havent felt like updating the site much. Soz lol. Anyhow…Here I am, and I thought I would let you know what has been going on.
First things first. Every week I get at least one email that runs along the lines of “Hi Luna-C, Love the site, but when I download the zip wont open / the zip file is corrupt / the zip file isnt a zip file etc etc”.
The simple answer is, if you are on a PC, then a zip file is waaayyyy too complicated for your computer to handle. You need a thing to do it. Its called something. It requires something, probably a download. I have no idea what, because I am on a Mac, which doesn’t require this mystical thing that allows PCs to unzip. PCs are wwaaayyyy to complicated for me. Macs are for idiots – you turn them on, download the zip, and open it. Anyway, it has all got very tedious. I should get an FAQ done so I can just send a link to it, but I never get around to it. Its a PC Mac thing, and just writing that bores me to tears lol….and I have had enough of it. So I am going to be removing all the zip files and putting individual MP3 files up of each track. That should fix the problem – and I am aware that a few zip files HAVE been corrupted, so it will fix that problem too. So please, if you are having trouble opening the zip files, just wait a bit, yeah? I will start doing a few MP3 uploads from tomorrow, starting with Kniteforce and working my way through.
Next thing…I will upload Podcast 17 as soon as I have done it. I have been wrapped up in working on Supaset 10 for the last few months, and in truth it has been a struggle. Sometimes music comes to me without effort – a usual Supaset takes 4 – 8 weeks depending on what my plan is. I have been working on Supaset 10 for nearly 4 months, and as yet I have maybe half of it done. So far:-
Sesames Treet 2010
California Knitemare
Carry The Fire
Dominated By Moby 2
Intro (Untitled as yet)
Outro (Untitled as yet)
Great Hites Remix
And thats about it. I dunno, I am really happy with the tracks, but this set is really hard going. Ah well. On the plus side, I got to test out the new tracks (Except for Sesames Treet 2010 which I only finished 30 minutes ago) at a party in Ohio called Ravers Guide to the Galaxy. Which brings me to the photo at the top of the page, taken that night on my glorious, fuzzy iphone.
The dj shown is Jimni Cricket – who booked me to play a party in Seattle back in 2004 I think. I put the picture up because she is the first Dj in a while to really impress me. Mixing various styles, using accapellas over other tracks, scratching, throwing 7” records on top of 12”‘s. It was impressive – and all on vinyl. I had got so used to all Dj’s playing on CD, and doing standard mixing, that it was a real pleasure to watch someone who was so skillful on the decks. So I just wanted to say big up to Jimni. I also wanted to thank all the ravers, who were brilliant, and the promoters of the party who made the whole night a really great experience. So massive thank you to Jesse and Jeff – top dudes, thank you for everything. I cant wait to come back and play again, and Bexxie says she would love to play too :o). And while I am talking about raves and Seattle, I would like to remind any of the Portland and Seattle crew that I will be up there for Snoochy Boochies (?) on April 17th – come to the party, its gonna be awesome. And with a lot of luck, I will be able to premier Supaset 10. Then again, at current speeds, it wont be ready until 2011 lol…
I have removed the DC party, as Smoke had to cancel. I hear he has been getting grief about this, but people should chill out – sometimes things go wrong. The line up was very ambitious, and whenever someone tries to reach that far, there can be problems. So cut the guy some slack. I am sorry I cant play the party myself – apart from it being a great gig, it would have been nice to see some of my UK friends. But thats how things go sometimes!
Okay, I think thats all I have to say right now. Check out Podcast 17 for a sneak preview of Sesames Treet 2010 – I am well pleased with it. Stupid damn thing to remix that piece of crap, but sometimes there is glory in the daft ;o) Outta here….

Sesames Treet eh? Can’t wait to hear that.
I have downloaded a few zips and never had a problem myself. But as you say macs tend to work all the time :p

Please don’t replace the zips with mp3s, it is harder to check if an mp3 is downloaded completely without corruptions inbetween or at the end than to check a zip. And on a side note: even on Macs a corrupt zip file cannot be extracted.
My FAQ for this issue:
[Q1] Zip file corrupt?
[A1] Download it again
[Q2] Still corrupt?
[A2] GOTO [Q1]

Too bad about the DC party. I was thinking about heading out for that one – looked like quite a line-up! Can’t wait to hear all those new tracks though. =D
