Podcast, Oddcast, & Podcast again! And surreal explanations for both!

Hey! People of the World!

Yes, three hours plus of music in one upload? Thats crazy, no? Well, welcome to Crazyville in that case. For your listening pleasure, I have uploaded 3 sets for you. The first and most important is Podcast 16, which is a simply yummy mix of hardcore and other musics. It also features the one and only Mr Dave Skywalker! I’m not sure how well known he is to many of the people that read this blog. Most will know him from the old KF website days. Anywhat, Dave has been playing out quite a bit, most notable at BangFace where he has become the closest thing to a resident. And his mixing is easily as mad as mine, if not madder. In fact, his 30 minutes on the new podcast is like an alternate me. Or I am an alternate him? Anyway, you lot get on the d/l and see for yourself. Its a great podcast, even if it is missing Luna-B (Otherwise known as Bexxie). She will be on Podcast 17 and future podcasts, so the saga of the fat robot dance will continue…just…not yet. In the meantime, Dave will make your ears fall off and I am sure you will enjoy that. Its the sewing back on that hurts.

Also uploaded is the Oddcast. This one features…eerrr…Dave Skywalker. Ehem. The thing is, you see, both Dave and I are very into a lot of other musics. And we both enjoy peculiar samples and obscure artists. So one day, while I was walking around my house wearing only a sock on my left foot and playing my kazoo, I thought “What if I did a podcast that wasn’t about hardcore, but was just a mix of different music and sounds?”. This idea came partly from mixing on Serato, where, for a laugh, I threw in all my metal and folk music and was pratting about mixing it into hardcore. And also partly because thats the sort of idea you will have when walking around wearing only a sock on your left foot and playing a kazoo. Anyway, who better to do such a thing with than Mr Dave? I called him up and suggested he tried playing a kazoo while only wearing a single sock, and he wasn’t that keen, to be honest. But when I suggested we worked on the Oddcast together, he leapt at the chance, promptly hitting his head because he lives under a very small bridge in Paraguay. When he came to, we worked out that we could do this by taking turns mixing a few tunes each, then sewing it all together to make a truly insane mix….and Viola! Here it is! Oddcast 1! Perhaps the only mix released this week to contain Nick Cave, samples from Battlestar Galactica, a Baby crying, Tool, Public Enemy and Aphex Twin. And Lisa Gerrard. And that Shaddap Ya Face song. I hesitate to call it classic, but it certainly is weird. So go have a listen. Its okay if you dont like it. Just dont tell us because we will both cry and cry and cry. And even if you hate it we will probably make more of them. If we feel like it, you know.

Some of you might be thinking “Luna-C must be drunk or stoned or something, this blog post is really peculiar” but you would be wrong. I am just bored of writing “this week I made a tune, here is the tune I made” and all that crap. Do you like my photo by the way? I went to see Avatar. I liked it, and now wear the glasses everywhere I go. Apples are nice. Not sure about the I-pad, mind. I miss that really nice bread you can get in the UK. Also, the smell of vinyl. Thats a great smell isn’t it? Holding a record in your hand….sigh….do do do, dooo do-do do-do. Where was I?

Oh yes. You see, the thing is, they get separated and then they don’t match. Thats why I was only wearing one. The other mix thats now available is in the “Mixes” Section, and is Podcast 4, at 320 quality, and without me talking on it. Yeah! Awesome! Wet myself!

I finally finished a track this week. Its been a real struggle, but I have a new Supaset 10 dubplate finished. So I am hoping SS10 will be ready in the next few months and plan to make it available in May, along with a all the tracks that I play to make Supaset 10, if you see what I mean. Should be a laugh. Wait, whats that? I think I hear a piece of celery calling me, telling me its time for my daily breakdancing practice – tonight, poppin’ & lockin! Whoop! The other night it was just doing the stationary caterpillar. For 7 hours. Sleep, thats another name for it. Bye then :o)
