Massive Musical Update. With Pics! Eek!

Hey Peeps!

Lets start with some photos. Firstly, this is Panacea playing at Bangface:




This picture demonstrates a few very important things. First is, I am crap at photography. The second is that it was so hot the camera steamed up within a second of me wiping the lens. The third is, errr…okay I have nothing else to say about it. Bangface was completely brilliant though. Panacea’s set was amazing, really excellent. Friction played too – his set was good, but I don’t think his MC was “getting” the BangFace crowd. He seemed to be getting annoyed when an inflatable penguin bounced into his head, not realizing that an inflatable object to the head is the highest compliment you are going to get at Bangface lol. Actually, its one of the things I love about the place – the Dj is important, but there is none of that worship the dj crap you get at other parties. The Dj is expected to join in the chaos. Yes, its distracting when the moshing crowd bashes into the turntables, and yes, its hard to concentrate on the mixing and you might make some mistakes. But heres the thing – no one cares lol. Awesomeness.

Anyway, when I played the Bangface weekender a while back, I wasn’t happy with my set. So this time I decided to make a set geared specifically for the Bangface crowd. Which is to say, I decided to play as many different styled tracks from as many different eras as possible, and tried to keep it so each following track was different to the last. The result was a set I am extremely proud of, even though its not all new material by any means. So here it is in all its glory…I hope you enjoy :o):-

I will add a track list eventually. Speaking of which, I have added the track lists for the podcasts up to Podcast 12. Go to the about page for that. Now, onto the next photo’s, which are Kev Energy at Go Bonkers in L.A, and the amazing crowd who made the night fantastic. You can tell which is which, I think lol…







This party was brilliant too. In fact, the last few weeks I played in Dresden, Germany at “Seance De Danse” with Mighty Melody and Eddy Grenade, and that was superb. A full on Jungle and old skool party, really good and I was really well looked after. Then I played Bangface – nuff said on that. Then Epidemik a week later, where despite mixer troubles, I had a great time. Particularly because I went with Dj Poosie and Spennie Trip, and it was kinda like old times. Old skool music, old friends…all good. Plus the Epidemik crowd were having it big time. Then I flew back to the USA, and then I flew to L.A for this party, before finally getting home last night. My neck is aching from rocking out all night, dancing to Kev Energy’s brilliant set, and then my own, and then Kev was playing another slower set, which was good because if he had played another fast one, I would have died. I am getting old, after all, lol. But it was great – big up to all the ravers in L.A that were so welcoming – I got so much love from the crowd that I didn’t know what to do with it – thanks guys. And special thanks to Winter and Grace – you guys rule and I cant wait for the next one (and to go shopping and hang out in L.A lol). So thats my relentless djing over with for a bit, and without exception, all the parties were fantastic!

Okay, on to the free music stuff, which is the only reason you waded through my boring party reviews and crappy pictures, ha ha :o)

From now on, each time I add a new podcast, I will be adding the corresponding podcast from the year before to the “Mixes” section. So you can now get Podcast 13 which I have uploaded with this blog post, and also Podcast 1 (which was Supaset 8), but without me speaking all over it. Next month, when I upload Podcast 14, you will then be able to get Podcast 2 in 320 quality from the mixes page, and so on. I didn’t do much speaking on Podcast 1 anyway, but the higher quality will be appreciated by all you audiophiles, I am sure. The benefit will really be seen once we get on to the other podcasts. I expect Podcast 14 will be late. I will try to get it done for December, but as I may have mentioned, Bexxie and I finally bought a new home in North Carolina, and are moving to live there next week. Which means, after doing this post, I am going to be dismantling the studio and packing. IF I get the studio and everything set up in time, I will get Podcast 14 ready for December. If not, then it will be January, and I will do 14 and 15 pretty close together so that the monthly balance keeps going. I will try to update blog posts to keep you posted on progress lol. Yeah, we have all heard that before lol, so we will see how that goes!

Now then. Despite my best efforts, I have been unable to get the forthcoming Final Vinyl Kniteforce Box Set together (KF061). I expect it will be in the new year, maybe March. I have also not got KFA47 ready for vinyl. That being so, and me being terribly generous, I have decided to make KFA47 the new KFD10 release. You can now download the 4 tracks from the Kniteforce Digital link. Here’s the artwork:-




You will find 4 tracks in 4 styles, so something for everyone. As a side note, the Drumspeed track is something of an experiment. The other 3 are finished and mastered, that one is finished but unmastered, and I wasn’t 100% happy with it. It is very likely it will be remixed and messed about with and rereleased at some point. It has potential and I dont feel like it reached it. But it will, and its pretty solid as it is, so I thought you might like it :o)

Sigh. I am so tired – too much flying and my neck hurts. And I am repeating myself. What else? Oh, I am finally organizing the Kniteforce T Shirts. As soon as I have more details, I will let you know. I expect them to be ready a little bit before Christmas, but it may be in January. I am going for a simple KF logo on the back, small logo on the front design, and maybe another design with the 3D logo. As soon as I have confirmed price and date of arrival, you guys will be the first to know!

This post feels more like an essay. Thats what I get for slacking with the blog posts I guess. And now I have forgotten the next thing I have to tell you…grrrr…ummm….errrr…right. Well, I will go and encode the MP3s of KFD10 and hope that it comes back to me while I am doing that! brb.

Oh yes, I remember now. Before I played in Germany recently, I did an interview with Dj K. I thought you might like to take a listen. I sound like an idiot, but thats nothing new. Anyway, if you have 15 minutes or so to spare, have a listen :o):-

Okay, I think thats all I have to say right now. So I am off to start packing.
