KFD09 - Idealz new tracks! Podcast 12! Stupid Photo's! Exclamation marks!
Oct 14, 10:04 AM
Hi Everyone!

Thought I would start off with some beautiful pictures lol. You are looking at photos taken from the absolutely awesome rave Bexxie and I played at in Rochester, New York! For the non-Americans, Rochester New York is in New York state, not New York city. For the UK people, its like saying you played in London, Manchester. Yes, its a five hour journey from New York city. Bexxie and I live in New Jersey, so it was a little bit further to drive. But anyway, it was brilliant, a really fun party. You can tell, because me and Donny No Left Turn decided to wear “we are having a good time at the party” hats.
If you ever see us and we are not wearing those hats, you can be sure we are very unhappy and not enjoying ourselves at all!
Seriously though, Bexxie played a wicked set, using Serato for the first time, and the crowd loved it. The set, not Serato. We also got to hear her new track “6 Months” out live for the first time. This track has already been picked up and played on the Hospital podcast and various d’n‘b types have shown interest, so it was great to finally hear it out.
Earlier in the day I picked up No Left Turn as his flight from Philly had been cancelled – he flew overnight from California, and then got stranded there. Philly is not that far from Bexxie and I, so he got the pleasure of being picked up by a crappy new driver, and then got to hang out in the KF studio. Which is nowhere near as much fun as you might think lol. So it was cool to chill with Donnie for a while – I have known him since 2002 or something, but never really just sat around talking bollox because I am not very good at that, plus we never had time – always seeing each other at raves. Not the best place for a conversation. Anyway, back to the hats…
Seriously, a big thank you to Marty the promoter, who treated us so well and made the whole night go smoothly, and a big up to MC jumper (who you can see in the background of my non-hat picture) and of course a big thanks to all the ravers – we had a great time. And lastly, a poo-on-you to the left CDJ1000 that decided there was no real need to either keep time or to play music at various times during my set. May you rest in the 7th circle of electronic hell where all shitty turntables go to die. I had a great time despite you lol…
Other stuff, other stuff. Yes yes, I know, we are all desperate for the Idealz release. Heres a pic of the sleeve, ooohhhh….

Now, its been a little delayed, BUT dont panic, I expect the tracks to be sent out by Friday at the latest. And the reason for the delay is that you are getting an extra track! As you can see, the sleeve only has 4 tracks listed. But Dj Deluxe jumped in at the last minute and wanted to remix 2 Da Ground, which he has done. I have a version of it here, but I am not sure if it is the finished version. If it is, or when I have the finished version in my hands, then I will zip up all 5 tracks, and get them sent to those that donated.
If you missed out and still want the tracks, you can still donate now. Just click the button on the left, and write “Idealz donation” in the Paypal message section!
Here is a track list for you:-
A1 – Gloom
A2 – Needz
B1 – Raise Your Handz 2010
B2 – What If? (Luna-C’s D’n‘B’n‘tingz mix)
B3 – 2 Da Ground (Dj Deluxe Mix)
I will be adding clips for this release in the KFD section, but obviously, you wont be able to download this release as it is only for those that donated to it. I may make these tracks available in 6 months or so for general download. The whole project has come out completely awesome, and man, I wish we could put it on vinyl. I wish the scene was as it was 10 years ago. I wish I was 20 years old. I wish I was a millionaire. Sigh. Wait, where was I?
Oh, Podcast 12. Yes, thats the one. I am going to upload that once I have finished this blog post. I have mixed Supaset 9 and put it in the podcast. I am not really happy with it – those of you that download the podcasts will have heard pretty much all the tracks, and I had to use some of the older Supaset tracks to pad it out. Its incomplete at best. But since doing this mix, I have been hard at work on Supaset 10, which is really starting to come together well. So yeah, I just want to lower expectations with the Supaset 9 mix as it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to, but I got stuck and sometimes you just have to say “Fuck it” and move on.
Also added…if you go to the “about” section you will find an interview that I filled out recently (yesterday in fact, lol) for a friends university project. I thought you might enjoy reading it.
So much going on – I am sure I have more to tell you, but offhand, I cant think of anything else! I am flying to the UK in about 9 days, am arranging to get KFA and the rest of the back cat on iTunes and Beatport, and djing in Germany, Dresden, as well as Bangface and Epidemik in the UK, and preparing to move home. So if I seem a little confused, its because I am. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! Which reminds me, I am making a special set for Bangface, which will feature in the next podcast, along with a mix from Dj Bexxie, and that should be available in November, with any luck. And when Podcast 13 goes up, I will start releasing 320 MP3 versions of podcasts without me talking on them, so they are just the straight mixes. Neat, eh? Okay, thats it, I am sooo outtahere lol…Luan-C

Despite your comments I enjoyed the Supaset. A lot more hardcore techno than I expected.
Looking forward to the Idealz tracks
