Back once again for the renegade master...
Jan 29, 06:24 PM
…except that I’m neither renegade, nor master. Anypoop…
Hello! I am back in freezing icy cold New Jersey! Huzzah! And I have news. Lets get on with it!
Firstly, I have updated Kniteforce Digital. I have added KFD05 and the tracks for KFD06. Also, I have added Kutski’s Radio 1 mix to the “mixes” section. How awesome was that by the way? Big up to Mr Kutski! I have never spoken to him before, but after the set he sent me an email and seems a thoroughly nice fella. So that was cool, and it made me smile. Sometimes this industry is really nice :o) And as the tunes are mine, he was kind enough to allow me to post the mix. Its short and sweet, and worth a listen.
What next? Oh yes, a clip for you to listen to:-
Secret Weapon 2.mp3
A little bit of history on this one. Some of you may wander over to happyhardcore.com in your internet travels. I mooch about there sometimes. Anyway, ages ago, someone posted up a clip of a track asking for and ID. Someone pointed out that it was one of mine. I had a listen and thought “yep, one of mine. Fuck knows which one”. It turned out to be Cru-l-t – New Paths (which you can find on KFD04). The clip had a stab pattern, and sounded quite good. When I listened back to the whole track, I found that there is a vocal and strings etc etc, but the stand out part of it is the stab pattern and the Manga samples and laugh.
So anyway, I posted up a link to the track so it could be got by those that were after it, and didn’t think anymore about it. Until recently, when the thread came to life again with other people looking for the track. And I thought “I ought to remix this” because the stab is actually pretty good. Anyway, I did. So here’s a lowish quality clip. You can hear more on Podcast 4, which will go up in the next 48 hours. I hope. And the track has been renamed Secret Weapon 2, and will be on a forthcoming Kniteforce Digital release. So.
Other news…I am writing a monthly article for Core magazine. I was asked, and obliged. So the first article by me should be in the next issue. Which is nice :o) Now that I think about it, I don’t think the mag is monthly. But anyway, next issue, check it out!
More news…I am playing the Bangface Weekender – Bexxie and I will both be going over and sharing a chalet with Shaz and Dave Skywalker. Have you seen the clips on the Bangface page? Honestly, its like a party for mentals. Bexxie and I cant wait! Whoop! Also, we have another Kniteforce night coming up on March the 6th, in Lodz, Poland. Idealz, Deluxe, Alk-e-d and I will all be over there. So I am sure that will be chaos! Yeeeaaahhhhhh! Poland rocks big time! Plus we get to hang out with me old pal Wonter – who is a little sick at the moment. Get well soon old pal, you are going to need your energy ha ha! As soon as I figure out how to add those gigs to the “Upcoming Tour Dates” section, I will do so!
Speaking of other KF artists…I had this brilliant idea. At least, I think its brilliant. Actually, its only brilliant if you think it is. Anyway. Most of you will be aware of my reasons for moving to the USA. But one of the down sides to the move is, what about all my artists? Some don’t have access to a studio – Alk-e-d for example. Others are always a collaborative type thing. So I had a thought about how I could get them in the studio. Its tricky because I can hire a studio for them in the UK, but most of us have worked together for a very long time and it just wouldn’t be the same. Plus, it costs money which I am not going to make back, now the label is pretty much free. Then I thought, if planned in advance, a return ticket UK-USA is around $400.00. Thats not so much. They could stay at my house, I think. Since the website went online, we have had quite a few donations. What if I asked people to donate to get artists to the studio? I know, its a little weird, but hear me out. It would be like a direct buying of a track or tracks – once they are here, we would work on music, and then we would put it up immediately for free download.
Some of the artists would come visit me anyway on holiday – thats a different thing of course, but no doubt we would make music. Only, thats going to be once a year? Once every 3 years? I don’t know. So thats what I was thinking. What do you guys think? Good idea? Crazy? Feel free to air your thoughts below. Because the label and site is now run via the good will of you who visit, as opposed to the profit of sales, it makes for an interesting solution I think. And perhaps I could tempt other artists as well as the usual KFA peeps over…But I am feeling my way here. Perhaps I am out of order to suggest it? Let me know…
Well. I think thats all I have to say today. I am going to get on with the final touches to Podcast 4 and things like that…Outtahere….

:O i saw that post on happyhardcore.com!
and downloaded
:O I get core! I’ma going to have to buy it
That sounds like a good idea, not that it effects me.. although who’d turn down a $400 trip across the pond?
I will donate, only having bought my first pair of decks, im skint! monthly payments not great either. Either way, i want to show my support toward the KFA.
And cant wait for Podcast 4. My end of exam earcandy-reward :P

That sounds like a great idea! I wouldn’t be opposed to it at all…
Hell, I might even drive down myself once I get my license to stop and say “hi!” (although it might be a bit creepy).
Either way, great ideas! Looking forward to podcast 4! :D

Awesum idea!! I’d luv more Alk-e-d tracks and you gotta get Idealz over.
i really need to donate more but what with “Gordons Train Wreak” in full swing it’s a bit difficult.
You could try sending Richard “The Pickle Man” Branston a few tunes, get him hooked on the sound then explain theres no more tracks till he chucks up a few Virgin Atlantic tickets.
Might Work!!!
Might Not!!!
Worth a Shot!!

I think donations to fly in artists is a great idea in theory, though you may have to drive it a bit, have a competition, or a poll or something to generate some actual interest and get people involved. I’m sure you can figure that out.
To go off on a little tangent..
This post has made me realize that since selling my decks, and, even more generally, over the last few years, I have hardly put a dime into purchasing music. That said, I don’t download copyrighted material either. It’s not that I’m completely against downloading (though it is wrong), but there is very little music out there worth it.
What I have been doing to feed my thirst for music is downloading tonnes of mixes. I’ve found them to be better arranged, more interesting, and much more accessible than any other type of musical media. Luna-C’s mixes are a staple on my mp3 player, and while i might swap out other mixed from other artists, Supasets 1-8 are always there ready to be listened to.
All that said, I guess I’m rambling now because I just clued in that these mixes are how I enjoy music; especially the Supasets since they are such quality.
I am going to start making regular donations to Chris’ new site to help his new endeavor. I imagine it’s a bit of a scary thing for him to be ‘breaking ground’ the way he is, and I think he needs all the encouragement (words are nice, $$$ is better) he can get.
I am very glad donations are coming in, and I encourage everyone else out there to consider my words, and if you have the funds available give back where you can. Chris is pouring all his time, effort and (as corny as it sounds) heart into giving everyone free music, so let’s help him out.

I’d be up for donations to get artists in but it would take either a lot of people to donate or a few large donations to cover the costs.
