Here is some information about the sample packs.
I am giving away these samples in good faith. I am happy for you to remix these tracks. I am also happy for you to share your remixes with others. I will be extremely unhappy if you try to sell remixes of my work, or if you call it something else and try to sell it, or if you license it to someone for profit.
If this happens, my response will be:-
1) I will remove the sample packs for all the tracks, not just the one that was misused. One person abusing this system will mark the end of this system.
2) I will make the track available for free to download on this site. If the track is licensed to a compilation mix CD, I will make the entire CD downloadable for free.
3) I will take legal action where possible.
4) I will not forgive you. Ever.
These samples were gathered together from old disks. Some of my storage disks have been corrupted, damaged, lost, or individual samples have been lost. If the file you open doesn't have all the samples from the original tune, it is because I no longer have them to give to you.
Over the years I used various equipment and techniques to make music. Sometimes, this means that instead of having a full break beat, all I have is the slices after it was cut up on Recycle. I have not attempted to find these breaks in their original form to put in the samples files, as this would take me forever. I do not have the .rex or the .midi files for these breaks, so cannot supply them either. You may hear what sounds like the same beat time stretched many times. The difference between each time stretch can be hard to hear but trust me, they are all different.
Arrangements are another problem. Many of the earlier KF releases were made on an Atari, so even if I did still have them, most of us couldn't open them on modern computers. And many have been lost over the years. As time went by, I upgraded computers, and various Cubase song files and midi files freaked out and misbehaved. Some inexplicably turned into .unix files, thus making them useless to me as they will no longer open. Maybe you will have more luck? So I have included them where I can, as midi, song, arrangement or unix files.
The closer you get to modern day, the more files I have, including Reason and Cubase project files etc etc.
Some of the music was not made in my studio - Dj Force And Evolution spring to mind. Others, like DJ Ham, made a few in my studio before he bought his own. I only have the samples from music made in my studio. None other. Again, if its not there, I don't have it!
Where a certain catalog number says samples are not available, you may find them on a later catalog number if that particular track has been remixed. Also, there have been many remixes of some tracks. Usually, the latest remix will have all the samples of all the remixes as I tended to add as I went along and only deleted if I ran out of space while making the track.
Basically, I have supplied everything I can. If its not in the file, its because I cannot supply it. I know thats annoying - its even more annoying for me not to have various masters, samples, artwork etc. But there it is.
Enjoy,
Chris / Luna-C
